1947, "First Lieutenant, Bomber Boy!" (AristoCAT)
Jackie's first, and arguably best album, First Lieutenant, Bomber Boy! introduced the world to his inimical, overbearing-crooner style. Although of limited artistic merit, it is a stunnning example of how an ostensible "war hero" (famous only for having successfully bailed out of more doomed planes than any other airman) was able to foray the natural patriotic fervor experienced by Americans at the end of WWII into an enduring recording career.
Critically, the recording is of limited interest. It is notable, however that this is the only known debut album of a recording artist in which the title of every single track ends with an exclamation point.
